FRANK BROWN PARK & PUBLIX WEATHER UPDATES
WEATHER UPDATES FOR GRAND SLAM WORLD SERIES SESSION I
Update as of 5:55 AM, Wednesday, June 17: ALL games scheduled for Publix Sports Park AND Frank Brown Park are ON AS SCHEDULED for an 8:00 AM Start.
Please double check all brackets before heading to the ballpark.
Please keep in mind, we have NO control over the weather. In an event this size, we do our very best to get every team ALL of their games played and when you have delays it can mean games stack on top of each other each day. Meaning some teams will have to play multiple games on a particular day. The brackets have to flow in order thus we can't manipulate games and times once we get into bracket play meaning some teams will have multiple games each day. If we continue to get delays, be prepared to play on our advertised weather date of Sunday. We will look at all options during the week from shortening game times to worse case going to a single elimination bracket. In the end, we want to get as many games in for you guys as we possibly can and crown champions in each age division and class. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we all navigate the weather together this week!
. **If you have to evacuate either park, please take your gate tickets with you so that you can re-enter the park without any issues. You MUST have your daily ticket to re-enter the park without paying again.** . - Frank Brown Park has an automatic lightning alarm at the public swimming pool that sounds when lightning is within the 8-mile mark. We CANNOT resume play until the alarm goes off with the all clear horn. . - Remember in lightning delays, we go into an automatic 30-minute delay and every time a new lightning strike occurs within 8-miles of the park, the clock starts over . -SKILLS DROP IN DAY WILL BE WEDNESDAY FROM 8-4:30. Please arrive at anytime that is convenient . There will be no set schedule. (All age groups will be on field 7. They are using field 6 for games). . - Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding all week long as we deal with typical Florida Summer weather!
